Like GC and Combined Arms, get a harder set of maps if you want a challenge. Trailblazer: Made by the same modder as Guncaster, this one is basically the Doom equivalent to a playable 80s action movie. Best played with the most intense mapset you can grab, because the weapons here are OP as hell and will cut through most regular levels like butter.
#Brutal doom v21 beta addons mod
Guncaster: Completely bonkers mod featuring ridiculous weaponry, spells, insane movement, and so even more. Samsara: Ever wanted to play through your favorite WADs as characters from other classic FPS games, like the guard from Marathon or Corvus from Heretic? This one's for you. Iron Snail: Weapons mod meant to emulate the style and feel of weapons you'd find in a game like Metal Slug. Sort of arcadey feeling, but I'd recommend loading up a decently tough WAD if you want a challenge. Combined Arms: An absurd but really fun weapons mod with multiple playable character with different altfires on each weapon. If you want some weapons with a notably different feel (and by extension, balance), than I can give a few pointers: Now I just feel like Rick Harris instead of Billy Mays. Brutal Doom v20 has a larger arsenal as well.
Brutal Doom v21, or Brutal Weapons Only is about the best I can offer you. Thats issues, because even though its been done a lot it has not been done in the way you want. Listed: in order of Vanilla power and timing output.Įdit- And I just read that you want an expanded arsenal? Oh boy. Weapons of Saturn is a really good mention here too. I have one called REBUVRO that literally uses Doom's stock animations but smooths them out for animation purposes while keeping the vanilla timing and power. Xim's GZDoom3 is another really good one but the weapons are stronger since the Doom 3 weapons were stronger. Another one that is close to this is EVP which is Enhanced Vanilla Project. Smooth Doom and Beautiful Doom are basically your best bets if you want to keep it vanilla gameplay but want better weapon effects.
